Yes, physical therapy at Pelvic Love Physio is covered under your out-of-network (OON) physical therapy benefits for both pelvic floor and non-pelvic floor conditions.
At your request, you will be provided with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for OON reimbursement for physical therapy.
To pay for services at the time of your visit, you can use a Flex or Health Savings Account (FSA/HSA) card, all major credit cards, check, or cash. Payment is always due at time of service.
If you would benefit from a discounted rate due to financial hardship, please contact Dr. Stephanie at 309-431-1357
Insurance companies are now calling the shots for most PT (physical therapy) coverage. They are limiting the number of visits patients can attend, what PTs can do with their patients during the sessions, and how long a patient can stay each session.
This means your insurance company is restricting your care to keep their costs low, rather than doing what is best for you. It also takes away the PT’s ability to decide what care you need!
By remaining out of network with insurance companies. Pelvic Love Physio is placing YOU in the driver’s seat.
This allows you and Dr. Stephanie to come up with the best plan of care for your needs, and allows you to attend as many visits as needed to achieve your personal goals.
Sorry, no. We recommend that anyone who wants to try to get reimbursed by their insurance company call the number on the back of their insurance card ahead of their visit.
This way you will know exactly what to expect when you attend PT in terms of how much your insurance company will reimburse you, and what the process is to submit a superbill for reimbursement.
Insurance companies should reimburse you for any type of physical therapy service (including for pelvic floor disorders). However, they typically do NOT cover wellness services, which means there is no pain or ailment/injury present.
Please see our Services page for more information on what constitutes wellness vs. physical therapy. Coverage may vary by insurance carrier though - we recommend you call to find out, as you might be surprised (in a good way)!
No, and in fact you cannot pay out-of-pocket for any services that Medicare typically covers. This is actually a federal offense if we were to accept money from you.
Medicare requires that all bills for covered services (and PT is a covered service) go through Medicare, regardless of patient preference. So at this time, we are unable to accept anyone as a patient who carries Medicare Part B (outpatient coverage).
However, you CAN attend Pelvic Love Physio for wellness services, since wellness is not covered by Medicare. Please see our Services page for more detail on what counts as physical therapy and what counts as wellness.
The cost varies depending upon what type of service you need, whether you are being seen in-person or virtually, etc.
Please call us at 309-431-1357 to figure out what type of appointment is right for you.”
No! This another reason why we don’t take insurance. Your insurance company can change its coverage for PT, or even revoke prior payments, at any time.
At Pelvic Love Physio, you will ALWAYS know in advance how much your visit will cost, and exactly what you are paying for. There will never be any surprise bills or charges!
A limited number of sliding scale and pro bono visits are available. Just contact Stephanie and ask! As of May 2023, after only being open for 2 years, Pelvic Love Physio has given away just over $10,000 in free or reduced-fee care to those who need it.
But please keep in mind - no matter the agreement on cost, payment is always due at the time of your visit.
No (woohoo!). Illinois is a direct access state, so no referral for physical therapy treatment is required.
Some insurance companies may still require a referral for reimbursement, but this is very rare. If that is the case, Stephanie can work with you to help you obtain a referral from your doctor.
There are three ways to schedule:
Visit our booking page online
Call Stephanie at 309-431-1357
Email Stephanie to work out a day and time
At this time there is no waitlist! And another perk of Stephanie working out of her home is that she can be flexible with scheduling, especially for virtual visits.
For in-person appointments, most occur between the hours of 9am and 5pm.
You can see her availability on her booking page (https://pelviclovephysio.janeapp.com) even if you aren’t ready to schedule quite yet.
At Pelvic Love Physio, we really value teaching you how to treat yourself, so you know what to do to help manage your symptoms.
As a result you need to come less often than at traditional physical therapy clinics.
Once per week is a high frequency at Pelvic Love Physio, and on average, patients attend physical therapy sessions 2x/month.
In-person initial evaluations for PT are 1.5 hours, and in-person PT follow-ups are 1 hour.
Other services vary in length based on the type of appointment, and whether or not it is in-person or virtual.
Please contact us for more details.
This varies greatly based on your condition. If you are having a lot of pain or more-severe pelvic floor symptoms, you will need to come more often.
If your pain or complaints are minimal, you will need fewer visits. If you want an estimate on how many visits you may need, please contact Dr. Stephanie to discuss your situation further.
You can change or cancel appointments on our online booking page. You can also contact Dr. Stephanie via phone or email to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Please note that a $50 cancellation fee applies to any appointments canceled less than 24 hours in advance, as well as for any no-shows. Exemptions to the fee are allowed for illness and medical/family emergencies.
Pelvic Love Physio is a single-person practice owned and operated by Stephanie Dillon, PT, DPT, WCS.
Please see our About Me page for more info about Dr. Stephanie. You will always only see Stephanie when you attend your visit - you will not be passed around between multiple therapists, or be surprised when you arrive that you are seeing a different PT than you expected.
There is also no receptionist or aide - no need to explain your symptoms to anyone other than Dr. Stephanie herself!
Dr. Stephanie has created a welcoming space in her home that is within a private room right off the front door.
There is also a bathroom right off the entrance as well! The treatment room and bathroom are separated from the rest of the house by a curtain.
You can be assured that no one will see or overhear you while you are there! Please see our About Me page for pictures of the physical space.
If you're wondering, "What to wear to pelvic floor therapy?" please wear something that you can move around in comfortably. You will be asked to move around to assess your posture, flexibility, and strength.
If you are attending PT for pelvic health problems, then you will be asked to undress from the waist down at some point during your appointment.
In that case, it doesn’t matter very much what you wear anyway! For more information on what to expect during a pelvic floor examination, please see our What is Pelvic Health PT? page.
And, please remember that everyone’s pelvic area is beautiful just the way it is. There is no need to do any special prep or hair removal prior to attending your session.
Yes! It doesn’t matter to your therapist whether or not you are menstruating while attending your sessions. We place an absorbent pad underneath everyone’s bottom while they are undressed for this very reason.
However - if having a pelvic floor examination while you are menstruating makes you feel uncomfortable, that is ok! You can always reschedule your appointment, or we can always work on non-pelvic floor problems during your session. Usually there are plenty of other things to work on!
No! You are always in control of what happens during your sessions.
If you are uncomfortable with an internal examination, we can gain a lot of information by at least visually inspecting the perineum (the area between the vagina or scrotum & the anus), and watching the perineum move.
If you are uncomfortable with getting undressed, similar information can also be gained by feeling the perineum over clothing.
If you are uncomfortable with any touch to your pelvic area, we can actually figure out a lot just by having a detailed conversation about your symptoms!
For more detail on what happens during a pelvic floor evaluation, please see our What is Pelvic Health PT? page.
Yes! If you would feel more comfortable by having someone else with you during your visit, that is absolutely ok.
And typically it’s a benefit to you for your partner to hear what Dr. Stephanie has to say directly, rather than you trying to relay the information later on.
Only you know the answer to this one! If your child(ren) is/are well-behaved and will allow you to participate fully in your session, they are absolutely welcome.
This includes new babies!
But if you know your child will be disruptive, or you have multiple children that you will need to bring - please keep in mind that the treatment space is small, and that we will need to end your session on time no matter how much we are (or are not) able to accomplish during your session.
